Coco-Palms When
Hurricane Iniki
struck the island of Kauai in 1992, a little slice of vintage
Hawaii was lost. The Coco-Palms Resort, a 400-room hotel set
in a 2,000-tree coconut grove, shut its doors indefinitely.
The costs of repair proved too great. This site pays tribute
to what once was one of Hawaii's most famous hotels. Browse
through a selection of antique
postcards, a travel brochure
from 1979, or a menu
from 1960. Read an interesting historical
account, and keep up with the latest news
on the hotel's possible re-opening. Even if the hotel never
opens its doors again, they'll always be able to say Elvis
slept there. (in Regional) |
