The Alan Robertson family from Vancouver, British Columbia visited Kauai and spent four glorious months at the resort in 1960.
Alan Robertson was Senior Vice President of BC Sugar at the time and wanted to check out the strength of the Pure Cane Sugar Company which was just coming into the Western Canadian market with its product.
Needless to say, the entire family, which included Alan & Mary Robertson plus their two sons Guy & Christopher, had a most memorable time. They also enjoyed the company of the Noel family which included two delightful daughters.
Mrs. Mary Robertson particularly liked the exotic pork dinners and torch lighting ceremony, while Alan and the boys spent countless hours in Coco Palms' swimming pools and down at the beach.
Christopher will never forget leisurely paddling down the lagoon in one of the resort's many small outrigger canoes or sitting around listening to the guitar music of one or more of the colorful staff.
It was a holiday that none of them will ever forget and to this day is a subject that often comes up when drifting back into Robertson family history.
